Twenty years ago, in June 2001, Colleen walked into my practice and into my life.
I had heard so many amazing things about Colleen, through a fellow Hand Therapist. So I was convinced that I wanted to employ despite the fact I hadn’t even met her. Actually, that’s an understatement. I was desperate for her to work with me.
She was six months pregnant with her daughter, Lucy and Colleen pointedly told me I was crazy to want her on my team. But, I did.
Of course, I didn’t expect her to still be here 20 years later.
As all here know, Colleen is a highly regarded and sought-after hand therapist who is regularly recommended by Victoria’s leading hand surgeons and specialists. She is technical and passionate and particularly skilled with complex wounds, burns, acute tendons, fractures and arthritis. And don’t her older patients just LOVE her! And even with a continually bulging patient list and while raising two beautiful girls, Colleen has managed to further her skills to become an American certified HT as well as an accredited member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association. She is amazing. Sometimes I don’t know how she does it.
Colleen – you were my first hire and to this day, it was one of the best decisions both professionally and personally I have ever made.
Thank you for 20 years of your life.
