COVID-19 – Do I still attend my Hand Therapy appointment?

There is understandably a lot of uncertainty, panic and general unease due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The team at Melbourne Hand Therapy is here for you, with your safety and best interest as our priority.

We are continuing to treat patients in the clinic at this time, with additional precautions in place.

These include:

  • Extra cleaning of surfaces and hands with patients being asked to wash their hands upon arrival
  • Requesting patients to attend appointments independently or in cases where this is not possible to have only one essential support person if necessary to limit people in waiting/treatment rooms
  • Patients and team members who have any flu like symptoms, have recently travelled overseas to COVID-19 “hotspots”, have returned from any country after midnight 15/3/2020, or those who have had any known exposure to a confirmed COVID-19 case are asked to self isolate.
  • If you are required to self isolate, are unwell or have any concerns that compromise your health at this time we can provide online Hand Therapy via Telehealth.

What is telehealth?

Telehealth is the use of video and conference software in a safe and secure setting to connect you to a Melbourne Hand Therapist remotely.

With the current situation we are offering Hand and Upper limb therapy sessions to those unable to safely attend in room treatment via teleconference.
