The Role

The position provides a Physiotherapist (or Occupational Therapist) with the opportunity to join a busy practice of highly skilled, supportive therapists and efficient administration staff. The position is perfectly suited to a therapist wanting to develop their skills and specialize in the area of hand and upper limb rehabilitation. This position is based at our fully renovated medical rooms at the newly refurbished Latrobe Private Hospital.

The blend of responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Treatment of post-operative hand and upper limb conditions
  • Consultancy service to GP’s to assist with best practice of hand and upper limb conditions
  • Working effectively and efficiently, directly with leading hand and upper limb Orthopaedic Surgeons, Plastic Surgeons and Rheumatologists
  • Understanding and application of practice policies and procedures

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy degree
  • AHPRA registration
  • Minimum one year of clinical experience
  • Exceptional eye for detail, organisational and time keeping skills

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the financial and operations functions of MHT

  • Run weekly TAC debts report for total company and follow up outstanding invoices investigating what is required for payment to be approved
  • Reconciliation of Box Hill petty cash
  • Monthly reconciliation of outside rooms cash takings and deposit cash
  • Answer any invoice queries from reception staff
  • Completion of funds transfer request form if a patient is to be refunded
  • Completion/signing of 3rd party payer agreements, providing Insurance, bank details as requested
  • Fortnightly completion of admin hours spreadsheet and adding roster to found u for any admin hours earned
  • Approve fortnightly payroll hours, ensuring agrees to contracted hours
  • Settlement adjustments spreadsheets
  • Provision of annual forecasting / budgets
  • High level control of all MHT debtors and assistance with processes
  • Reception cover when required
  • Assistance with other duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of the company, such as filling in on reception as required.

2. Communication

The Practice

We are one of Melbourne’s largest hand therapy clinics and have been established since 1994 to provide specialised care for patients with hand or upper limb problems. The Role

The position requires a medical receptionist to provide reception and general office support in consulting rooms located at La Trobe University Medical Centre in Bundoora.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure the efficient operation of reception by effectively assisting all patients with booking, payments and enquiries
  • Answer all phones calls professionally and promptly
  • Successfully operate the practices’ booking management system, Nookal (training can be provided) to process appointments, invoices and payments
  • Efficient debt recovery for all private and compensable patients for all practice locations.

    PURPOSE OF JOB ASSIGNMENT
    The Upper Limb Physiotherapist is responsible for providing high quality assessment and treatment service to the patients of MHT.  In addition, precise and accurate reports of a high, professional standard are required for each patient.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    CLINICAL CARE

    • Provide appropriate clinical management for all patients referred
    • Accurately complete all required administration (see below).
    • Maintain patient confidentiality
    • If the patient has been treated previously, email administration staff to obtain discharged history.

    MANAGEMENT

    • Completion of documentation to the established standards
    • Make own appointments at satellite locations and keep accurate patient notes on the computer system
    • Maintain a strong relationship with health care providers
    • All medical legal reports to convey information which is clear, comprehensive, accurate, concise and substantiated by facts
    • Participation in the management of MHT as directed, including attendance at all staff meetings
