Shoulder

What is it?

An inflammatory condition causing fibrosis (thickening/scarring) of the shoulder joint capsule. There is progressive stiffness and significant restriction of movement and three overlapping clinical phases: freezing, frozen and thawing.

Symptoms

This is dependent on the clinical stage, however commonly includes pain with a loss of movement (particularly external rotation). Patients report difficulty with grooming, overhead activity, dressing and fastening items behind the back e.g. doing up a bra.

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, book an appointment.
